Possession of Fake IDs to Purchase Alcohol in Atlantic, Ocean, & Cape May County

Using a fake ID to attempt to enter a bar or to purchase alcohol can lead to charges for possessing a fake ID. While many people may consider using a fake ID to be a relatively minor offense, it can still lead to you having a criminal record if you are over 18 and you are convicted. No one should start building their adult life with, as difficult as it can be, the added challenge of having a criminal record.

If you have been charged with possessing a fake ID, you need to take steps to ensure that a single mistake does not have a disproportionately negative impact on your life. The penalties that can be associated with this charge include:

  • Jail
  • Fines
  • Community service

A conviction on this type of charge can also affect your ability to rent an apartment or secure employment given the prevalence of background checks for so many things today.
